David Sawyer RBA


(British, b. 1961)

Born in 1961, David Sawyer graduated from Canterbury College of Art in 1983.  He spent his next few years travelling throughout the Mediterranean studying and painting.  He paints in oils and in watercolours.


David has exhibited extensively, in solo and mixed exhibitions, including: open exhibitions held at the Mall Galleries: The Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Society of Marine Artists, The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, New English Art Club and the Chelsea Art Society where he in won the Katherine William-Powlett Watercolour prize in 1997. 


In recent years he has established himself with several of London’s West-end galleries successfully exhibiting both his oils and watercolours.  He has had a non-stop series of exhibitions in many galleries, including Panter and Hall,

Shepherd Market, London, and Thompson’s Galleries in Aldeburgh and London. 


In September 2003, David was commissioned to paint three oil paintings for the State rooms of the Cunard liner “Queen Mary II” (26 limited edition prints of each painting).
