Lionel Dalhousie Robertson Edwards
(British, 1878-1966)

Edwards combined his love of the hunt with drawing to create exhilarating paintings full of life. He became the youngest member of the London Sketch Club and was committed to earning a living from his art. He enjoyed a close working relationship with Country Life magazine and The Graphic and then progressed to traditional painting in watercolor and in oils. He ranks just below Munnings as an important twentieth century painter of the hunting field.
