Derek Ellwood Derek studied at the Bath Academy of Art. He worked as a graphic artist and taught painting and drawing until the early 90's at which time he began showing his work commercially. One of Derek's first commercial exhibitions was with the Royal Society of British Artists in 1992. He won the Painter/Stainers Award for works in oil. His many London exhibitions include the A1A Gallery, Redfern Gallery, Institute of Contemporary Artists, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Mall Gallery, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, 'Discerning Eye' Exhibition, The New English Art Club where he won the Barney Wilkins & Howard Award, Usiskin Gallery and Beaux Art Gallery 'New Artists of Fame and Promise'. Derek has also shown his work at the Laing Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London and was a prizewinner in the Laing Art Competition.
