Alexa King Alexas' ability to capture the unique vitality and essence of her living subjects in the fixed medium of bronze has brought her national renown and made her work some of the most sought after by discriminating collectors. Alexa has completed commissions for such prestigious institutions as The Nelson Rockefeller Collection, Calhoun Collection's Society, Camp Atterbury in Indiana (life-size War Memorial), Meadow Wood Farms, The Breeders' Cup Ltd. (Going to Post trophy), and Time-Warner, among others. Private and corporate collectors include Art Bircher, Dell Hancock of Claiborne Farm, Dogwood Stables (the Dogwood Dominion Award), William Farrish III, Juddmonte Farm, Lane's End Farm, Odgen Phipps, Mrs. Alan Robson, Tom Ryder and Mimi and Ton Voss. Alexas' lifelong passion for fine horses combined with her artistic
talents have earned her recognition from prominent art galleries, museums
and societies through numerous solo, juried, invitational and group
exhibitions. Combining her hands-on experience in raising and showing
nationally recognized show horses and owning one of the largest breeding
bands of Hackney Horses in North America (a species which is threatened),
Alexa brings to her work the knowledge of and ability to portray the
movement inherent in the animal. Her work has been selected for Saratoga
Springs, New York, Sporting Art Auction in August for three years straight, and most recently her Thoroughbred Mare And Foal was selected for the 1997 AAEA "Horse In Fine Art" tour.
